[ Bruce Hembd ]

A graduate of the Eastman School of Music, BRUCE HEMBD has lived in Phoenix, Arizona (USA) since 1991. He performs with the Arizona Opera, Quintessence Chamber Ensemble, Palo Verde Brass, Desert Chamber Musicians, Symphony of the West Valley, and the Tucson and Phoenix Symphonies, in addition to many other ensembles throughout Arizona.

Before moving to Phoenix, Bruce held principal positions with the Mexico City Philharmonic, Tucson Symphony Orchestra, and was also third hornist in the Fort Wayne Philharmonic. He has also freelanced in Europe (Austria and Germany), and in the Rochester (NY), Cleveland (OH), Houston (TX), and Chicago (IL) areas in numerous chamber ensembles, orchestras, musical shows and solo recitals.

He has made commercial recordings for Intersound, Centaur, CBS Masterworks, Summit Records, RCA and Arabesque Digital, including recordings with renowned artists such as trumpeter Wynton Marsalis and flutist James Galway. In addition, he has recorded numerous studio recordings for both film soundtracks and television commercials.

Also an accomplished web developer, Bruce has made web sites for companies and individuals since 1995. Company projects have ranged from large e-commerce and community web sites to small and personal web sites.

In his spare time, Bruce enjoys teaching and playing music, blogging, cooking and eating well, drinking coffee, hanging out with friends, and messing around with computers - not all at the same time of course.
